FABLETICS JAN 2016 REVIEW - all items 2

This month I decided to go with the Hemisphere set this month.

Hemisphere 2 Piece Set – Retail value: $109

FABLETICS JAN 2016 REVIEW - items 2

Newport Hoodie – retail value $59.95 (90% cotton, 10% polyester; machine wash cold inside out and lay flat to dry)

FABLETICS JAN 2016 REVIEW - items 1

Hamilton Long Sweatpant – retail value: $49.95 (60% cotton, 40% polyester; machine wash cold inside out and lay flat to dry)

I am thrilled with this set. It’s so comfortable, and I adore this hoodie! I know it’s not designed as such, but it’s perfect for nursing. I’ve also never thought I liked sweat pants that had elastic at the ankles, but these are amazing. (FYI – I got the tall 31” inseam)

Overall, I think it’s flattering, stylish, and comfortable! (FYI – Fabletics also tossed in a couple Tide laundry pods and a coupon for Propel into my package.)

Verdict: I’m completely happy and excited about my Fabletics outfit this month! You will find me wearing this every single day.

What did you pick from Fabletics this month?

FABLETICS FEB 2016 REVIEW - ITEMS 1

This month I decided to go with the Evernyl outfit this month, which includes the Aurora Longsleeve Tee (regular retail:$34.95, Fabletics VIP price $19.95) and the Leto Jogger (regular retail:$64.95, Fabletics VIP price $44.95).

FABLETICS FEB 2016 REVIEW - ITEMS 2

Evernyl outfit – Value: $99, Fabletics VIP price: $59.95

Leto Jogger pants: 60% French Terry Cotton/40% Polyester
Aurora Longsleeve Tee: 50% Cotton/50% Polyester

I’m really happy with this outfit. The pants are my favorite I’ve ever ordered from Fabletics. They’re super thick and warm and have a tie waist and pockets that zip up! I bought the pants in Charcoal Heather and the shirt in the color Cascade. The top is really comfortable and soft. I think it’s best worn with a cute sports bra, though, because the neckline is very wide and the back is a pretty deep scoop, and a normal bra’s straps will definitely show when wearing the top.

Verdict: I’m really happy with this outfit! I’m excited to have some great new lounge pants, especially. I’m really happy with the quality, too.

FABLETICS MARCH 2016 - items 1

This month I decided to go with the Malva Outfit this month (regular retail: $144, Fabletcis VIP price:$69.95), which includes the Hera Tee, the Salar Legging, and the Dash Bra.

FABLETICS MARCH 2016 - items 2

Dash Bra – retail value:$29.95; Fabletics VIP price $19.95

I haven’t tried too many of Fabletics’s bras, but I do like this one! The only problem is that I ordered a size or two too small on accident. Even so, I could get it on and it supported me well, but the thin straps were digging into my shoudlers with the size I ordered. I think the strappy back is pretty, though!

FABLETICS MARCH 2016 - items 3

Hera Teeretail value: $39.95, Fabletics VIP price $24.95

This tee is a nice lounge-y top. It’s easy to wear with any bottoms and it’s comfortable.

Salar Legging retail value: $79.95; Fabletics VIP price: $49.95

I’m obsessed with these leggings and the floral pattern. I loved the daisies print that the model for this outfit was wearing but I knew I just had to get this one because I love the colors and I like how it’s a little abstract.

The Salar Legging is my favorite legging Fabletics offers. It’s supportive, thick material and you can’t see underwear (or legs) through them when they stretch on your body (at least not with the black/dark colors I’ve tried so far. I can’t 100% speak for any white/neon/light colors from personal experience myself). Plus, these come in a long option, which is what I always get.

FABLETICS MARCH 2016 - items 4

Here’s what the outfit looks like on me! I love it. Note: I am wearing a cami under the shirt. It’s a little see through which isn’t a bad thing if you’re comfortable with it and are wearing a cool/cute sports bra anyway! The main reason I say this is because the shirt ends where the knot is, so there’s a space that goes all the way up to the knot (check out the photo of the Fabletics Model to know what I’m talking about it that’s confusing). The cami covers that gap so I just wanted to make sure that the style of the top was clear!

FABLETICS MARCH 2016 - items 5

And they also threw in a Naked Wines voucher card and the usual Tide Pod sample pack.

Verdict: I just love this outfit! The quality is always great from Fabletics and I’m obsessed with the floral prints they have right now! As far as value goes, this outfit regularly retails for $144.95 and thanks to the Fabletics VIP sub I got it for just $69.95. I’m happy!

FABLETICS APRIL 2016 - items 1

This month I decided to go with the Dorsal Outfit this month (regular retail: $104.90, Fabletcis VIP price: $59.95), which includes the Kerry Tank and the Valerie Jogger.

FABLETICS APRIL 2016 - items 2

Kerry Tank – retail: $39.95, Fabletics VIP price: $24.95

This tank is comfortable, and I like the coral color for Spring. I think the way the straps are at my shoulders makes my shoulders look weirdly proportioned, but maybe that’d be different if I added a sports bra to the look. The back has a pretty twist detail, but you’ll need to refer to the model photo for that, since it really needs either no bra or a sports bra to look good!

Valerie Jogger – retail, $64.95, Fabletics VIP price: $44.95

I love these pants! The material is comfortable, lightweight, and the fit is really nice. Full disclosure: These came in the wrong size (well, right size, wrong length – I need a tall, they sent me a short). Fabletics customer service was really friendly and prompt and helped me get the free exchange done right away!

Verdict: I like this month’s Fabletics pick. The quality is always great from Fabletics and I really dig these joggers! I think I may swap the tank, but I’ll have to play with it to see if I can find an under layer that I like with it. As far as value goes, this outfit regularly retails for $104.95 and thanks to the Fabletics VIP sub I got it for just $59.95. I’m happy with that.

FABLETICS MAY 16 - ITEMS 1

This month I decided to go with the Goma Outfit this month (regular retail: $114.90, Fabletcis VIP price: $59.95), which includes the River Tee and the Salar Legging.

FABLETICS MAY 16 - ITEMS 2

River Tee – retail: $49.95, Fabletics VIP price: $34.95

(60% Cotton/40% Viscose)

I love this tee! It’s really comfortable and I love how it has little slit cut outs along the bottom and the sleeves. They’re enough to be a great detail without being hard to wear.

Salar Capri – retail: $64.95, Fabletics VIP price: $44.95

(88% Polyester/12% Elastane)

The Salar Capri is one of Fabletic’s most signature bottoms. They also come in full-length leggings, which I own a lot of but this is my first pair of capris! I love them – they’re comfortable and the print is adorable! You’ll notice this is a different print than is featured in the model outfit photo above; this is because when you order your outfit you can select from all different available prints and colors of items! That’s such a great feature, because sometimes I’m not crazy about the new featured prints in that month’s released collection.

Verdict: This month’s Fabletics pick is one of my favorites in a while! The quality is always great from Fabletics. This outfit is super wearable and comfortable. I’m excited to go walking/running in this outfit. As far as value goes, this outfit regularly retails for $114.95 and thanks to the Fabletics VIP subscription I got it for just $59.95. I’m happy with that!

FABLETICS JUNE 2016 - items 1

This month, I picked the Gila outfit (regular retail: $110, Fabletics VIP price: $59.95), which consists of the Vela Tank and the Winn Mid Rise Crop.

FABLETICS JUNE 2016 - items 2

Winn Mid Rise Crop – Fabletics VIP price: $44.95 (retail: $64.95)

(88% Polyester/12% Elastane)

I’m not a huge fan of these, and the only reason is where they hit me. I really like the print and material and the mid-rise is even nice, but I hate that they hit right on my knees. It’s uncomfortable and I feel like it isn’t super flattering. On the model these crops are a couple inches longer and hit right below the knee, so that’s how they’re supposed to be. This problem is really just because I’m tall.

Vela Tank – Fabletics VIP price: $34.95 (retail: $54.95)

(89% Polyester/11% Elastane)

I love this tank! However it is more neon in person than the coral it’s portrayed as on Fabletic’s site. It’s officially one of my favorite things I’ve ever ordered from Fabletics. The draping is fantastic and the fit is great. There’s also (removable) padded cups and a shelf bra, which normally just don’t do anything for me but I feel like it works for me in this tank! I’m not super supported and wouldn’t go running but this works great as a wearable tank (and will be great for summer and nursing!) It comes in this color and black, and I really want to also get the black version but the only outfit it comes in is this one with these crops.

Verdict: This month’s Fabletics pick is 50/50 – I love the tank, I wish I loved the crops. However the quality is always great from Fabletics, and I can pass on or swap the crops (or return them). As far as value goes, this outfit regularly retails for $110 and thanks to the Fabletics VIP subscription I got it for just $59.95. I’m happy with that!

FABLETICS JULY 2016 - ITEMS 1

This month, I picked the Athena outfit (regular retail: $94.90, Fabletics VIP price: $59.95), which consists of the Arta Long Sleeve Top and the Salar Capri.

FABLETICS JULY 2016 - items 2

Arta Long Sleeve Top – Fabletics VIP Price: $34.95, $17.47 with current discount (retail: $44.95)

First of all, I don’t know why I picked a long sleeve top for the dead of summer (this isn’t one of the new items from their July collection, FYI). However, I do love it even if it won’t get worn for a few more months. The fabric is surprisingly thick and supportive. The design of this top is interesting – there’s a mesh V in front, and all down the center of the back (see the model photo before mine to see this – sorry, still haven’t unpacked my sports bras! Ack.). This design should be great for air flow and keeping you cool as your body temperature rises from running. Overall, I love this top. Plus – there are thumb holes!

Salar Capri – Fabletics VIP Price: $34.95, $17.47 with current discount (retail: $49.95)

The Salar Capri is a classic piece to Fabletics’ clothing line. The Salar Leggings are my absolute favorite leggings ever, and these capris are also fantastic. Supportive, thick (no seeing through no matter how much they stretch), and comfortable. These are a great basic capri.

Verdict: I really like my July Fabletics pick. Even though it’s not really a summer outfit, it’ll be great for the turn of the season. The quality is fantastic, too! As far as value goes, this outfit regularly retails for $95 and thanks to the Fabletics VIP subscription I got it for just $59.95. I’m happy with that, especially for the quality.

FABLETICS AUGUST 2016 - iTEMS 1

This month, I picked the Corvus outfit (regular retail: $114.90, Fabletics VIP price: $59.95), which consists of the Clara Sports Bra and the Salar Leggings.

FABLETICS AUGUST 2016 - iTEMS 2

Clara Sports Bra – Fabletics VIP Price: $24.95 (retail: $34.95)

This “sports bra” is much more like a crop top with a shelf bra. Not much support at all. I wish the top part didn’t go inwards so much (I feel like my armpit pudge is all out there). I do love the print and the higher neckline, though. I’m thinking this will be good for yoga. It allows for basically completely unrestricted range of motion.

FABLETICS AUGUST 2016 - ITEMS 3

Here’s a peek at the back. There’s a mesh center strap in the middle.

FABLETICS AUGUST 2016 - iTEMS 4

Salar Leggings – Fabletics VIP Price: $49.95 (retail: $79.95)

The Salar Legging is one of my favorite items from Fabletics ever. They’re never see-through and they wash really well. The prints stay looking good, too. I love the higher rise on these and I always get the tall, 31” inseam. And, most importantly, they’re comfortable! I really love this Cosmic Lights print – so pretty!

Verdict: All in all, I’m happy with my August Fabletics. I love the leggings especially. I’ll probably only wear the bra for at-home strength and yoga/pilates workouts; definitely not for running. As far as value goes, this outfit regularly retails for $115 and thanks to the Fabletics VIP subscription I got it for just $59.95. I’m happy with that, especially for the quality.

fabletics-september-2016-items-1

This month, I picked the Skyler outfit (regular retail: $169.85, Fabletics VIP price: $79.95), which consists of the Sophie Lace Tunic, Lisette High Waisted Legging, and Dash Seamless Bra II.

fabletics-september-2016-items-2

Sophie Lace Tunic – Fabletics VIP Price: $49.95 (retail: $69.95)

Oh em gee. This tunic is so great! It’s definitely out of my comfort zone. I really wasn’t sure about getting it but I’m so glad I did. The lace is such an interesting design and print. I also love the teal color. The black and white trim adds a sporty, casual vibe and makes it feel a little more wearable.

Lisette High Waisted Legging – Fabletics VIP Price: $24.95 (retail: $34.95)

This is a new legging from Fabletics, and I think they’ve dethroned my favorite Salar leggings from Fabletics! It’s a high-waisted legging, which I just could not resist. These leggings are the whole reason I ordered this outfit, and I am so glad I did. I’ll definitely be checking to see if they release any new outfits including these for future purchases. They’re not see-through at all, they offer full tummy-control, and they’re crazy comfortable. I feel like I’m not even wearing leggings.

fabletics-september-2016-items-3

Dash Seamless Bra II – Fabletics VIP Price: $29.95 (retail: $19.95)

This bra’s statement is the back straps, which have a cool criss-crossing design. It’s also seamless so it’s very comfortable. It doesn’t have much support but it is comfortable and I can see myself wearing it around the house until I have to run errands and be an adult.

fabletics-september-2016-items-4

The lace doesn’t feel delicate or easily tear-able or anything. The length isn’t quite a tunic length on me, but I’m tall so it may just be me. Also, I’ll probably pair it with a black cami underneath for more practicality but this top is a great statement piece that I’ve never seen anywhere else before.

fabletics-september-2016-items-5

They also included a sample of a Goodness Knows Snack Squares (which is so tasty), and a voucher for Naked Wines.

Verdict: This is one of my favorite Fabletics outfits ever! These leggings are officially my new favorite item from Fabletics and I need thirty-six more pairs in my wardrobe. I can’t wait to wear these everyday this Fall and Winter. The tunic pushes me out of my comfort zone but in an exciting way that I love. The value is great, too – this outfit is ~$90 off with a Fabletics VIP membership. And to top it all off, the quality of each item is great, which I have always experienced from Fabletics.

fabletics-october-2016-items-1

This month, I picked the Lucca Puffer Coat (regular retail: $99.95, Fabletics VIP price: $69.95).

fabletics-october-2016-items-2

Lucca Puffer Coat – value: $99.95 (Fabletics VIP Price: $69.95)

This coat is a midi-length, waterproof puffer coat. I’m a little obsessed, too. I bought a large, but I feel like I could probably have sized down for a more flattering shape, but honestly the winters here in Michigan get so cold any care I have about flattering heavy coats goes out the window. The large size means I’ll be able to wear sweaters and layer underneath.

It zips all the way from neck to hem, plus has snaps over that. I really like the quilted style and even though this is a puffer it’s very lightweight and feels thin. But even so, it is super warm!

fabletics-october-2016-items-3

I love the longer length because it means cold air hits less of me. The sleeves are long enough, which can often be a struggle for tall girls like me.

Also, the outer hip pockets are really big! When I walked into the grocery store with my hands in the pockets as far as they could go, just about my entire forearm fit! It stopped just a couple inches short of my elbow. I love that, plus it means my keys or phone won’t fall out while I walk around or anything.

Lastly, it has a big pocket on the inside of the coat, by the zipper – this is awesome for my Samsung Galaxy Note 4, which is categorized as a “phablet” (phone+tablet). This coat is going to perfect for me this winter!

Verdict: I’m so happy with my October Fabletics pick! This coat feels high quality and is well-designed. I think the Fabletics VIP price I paid is definitely worth it, especially because I was in need of a good winter coat (now that it’s getting colder, I realized that somehow our good winter coats have been missing/lost since we moved).

fabletics-november-2016-items1

Natalia Midi Sports Bra – Retail: $39.95, Fabletics VIP Price: $29.95

(This month I ordered the Cyperus outfit which includes this bra and a pair of Fabletic’s signature Salar leggings. FYI – This outfit must have sold out because I can no longer find it on their website, but the pieces are still available for purchase individually.)

I love this sports bra! It’s actually my favorite one I’ve ever bought from Fabletics! The “midi” aspect I think just means it has a little extra coverage, and the v-neckline and cross-back front are very flattering on a larger bust.

fabletics-november-2016-items2

Also? This glossy black rose design is stunning!

fabletics-november-2016-items3

Here’s a look at the cross back. It’s very supportive and comfortable.

fabletics-november-2016-items4_

Salar Legging, Black – Retail: $64.95, Fabletics VIP Price: $39.95

If you try one thing from Fabletics, I think their Salar leggings should be it. They come in dozens of different patterns and colors but I needed a new pair of solid black for the winter since my other pair or two aren’t what they used to be, after a couple years of wear. These are a supportive and thick material that has lots of stretch to it. They’re high-quality (never had any problems with holes or seams) and thick fabric that doesn’t show sheer at all when worn.

fabletics-november-2016-items5

The leggings are a great black legging (a basic I needed) but the real star for me this month is the sports bra. I’ve never had a bra from Fabletics be so flattering and offer so much support! Also, I feel fab in it, which is the best part. They offer the Salar leggings in the same black gloss rose pattern to match, and I think I’ll have to grab a pair of those soon too.

Verdict: The Cyperus outfit I ordered this month from Fabletics retails for about $104.90 and I got it for $59.95! Considering the leggings retail on their own for $64.95, I’m definitely happy with that value and everything I got for what I paid. I’m obsessed with this bra and I’m always happy to have a fresh pair of basic black Salar leggings to wear basically every day this Fall/Winter.

fabletics-december-2016-items1

This month I ordered the Emmeline outfit (retail: $104, Fabletics VIP price: $59.95), which consists of the Mariela Tank and the Salar Capri.

fabletics-december-2016-items4

Mariela Tank – retail: $39.95, Fabletics VIP price: $24.95

This tank is lightweight and comfortable, and I love how it goes with the print of the capris. The best part about it, though, is the back! See the following photo for the back details.

Salar Capri in Rosie Night Print – retail: $64.95, Fabletics VIP Price: $44.95

I’ve tried other types of capris from Fabletics and they’ve hit my right at the knee because I’m tall and haven’t worked out. This Salar pair isn’t like that, though! They have a great length and fit and have a nice rise at the waist. The material is light and stretchy but not see through at all, so it’s great for all kinds of movement. And of course, this print is very pretty.

fabletics-december-2016-items2

Here’s a look at the back of the tank. I love the detail here that also functions to keep you cool during your workout.

fabletics-december-2016-items3

Ellie Sports Bra – retail: $39.95, Fabletics VIP price: $24.95

I also added on this sports bra because it looked (and is) so soft and comfortable. This isn’t a super high-impact but it’d be great for pilates/yoga and strength training. Such a cute design, too!

Verdict: I love the outfit and add-on bra I got this month from Fabletics! The floral pattern is so pretty and I bought it with my pilates routines in mind. I’m also thrilled that the capris are a better fit for me than the other capri styles I’ve tried in the past from them, and I’m also really happy with the bra I added to my order. For what I paid for the core outfit ($59.99), I’m happy!

fabletics-january-2017-items2

This month I ordered the Atari Outfit (retail: $109.90, Fabletics VIP price: $69.95), which consists of the Taj Hoodie and the Julie Seamless Capri Tight.

Taj Hoodie – retail: $69.95, Fabletics VIP Price: $49.95

This hoodie is one of my favorite tops I’ve bought from Fabletics! It’s a fantastic hoodie. The material is a great knit that is more typical sweatshirt material instead of a more athletic or moisture-wick material. That makes it super comfortable and casual. I’m also thrilled with the fit – it’s a little looser than typical Fabletics athletic hoodies, plus the length of the sleeves and the torso are perfect for me! That can be tricky for me to find with as tall as I am. I love this.

Julie Seamless Capri Tight – retail: $39.95, Fabletics VIP Price: $29.95

Again, this is another item that is one of my new favorite items from Fabletics ever! These are tight, so the fabric is slinky-er and stretchier than their usual leggings. I also love getting on board with the cut out/mesh trend, and these have mesh panels on the front of the knees. They have a ton of stretch, are crazy comfortable, and don’t limit my range of motion at all. Like I said – a new favorite!

fabletics-january-2017-items3

Here’s a closer look at the mesh panels – they have a lot of stretch to them as well so it feels just fine and moves with you.

Verdict: I can’t even express how happy I am with this month’s Fabletics outfit! I love both pieces so much and they’re different than anything else I’ve gotten from Fabletics before. I’m wearing the hoodie as we speak. Is it wrong if I’m excited about my pilates tomorrow just so I can wear these? If it is, I don’t care. It looks like Fabletics is getting more and more interesting pieces in their monthly releases lately so I’m really looking forward to upcoming months!

Fabletics-February-2017-info

My package this month included a code for a free Graze box!

Fabletics-February-2017-items1

This month I ordered the Paula Outfit (retail: $114.90, Fabletics VIP price: $59.95), which consists of the Karina High Support Sports Bra and the Layce Capri.

Fabletics-February-2017-items2

Karina High Support Sports Bra – Retail: $49.95, Fabletics VIP Price: $29.95

Fabletics just released their Bra Shop (and their Plus Size shop!) which I am really excited about because I know being able to search for bras by amount of support is a feature I’ve been wanting for a little while now.

I like this bra a lot! The coverage is perfect for me and it’s definitely supportive, though not hard to take on and off. I love the wide band as well. The original colors of this Paula set showed a black and white color variation of this bra, which was cute because it matched the leggings (of which there were no other color variations), but I chose this grey/black variation because the white was on the sides where the black is here, and I didn’t think it’d be cute at all to have WHITE right at my UNDERARMS. I plan to actually workout in this, and just knew that having white right there would look awful before too long.

Fabletics-February-2017-items3

Layce Capri – Retail: $64.95, Fabletics VIP price: $44.95

These capris are very comfortable and fit me well. The fabric has some compression to it and the back of the waistband has a zippered pocket with reflective lines above and below. Also good to know, I don’t have any issues at all with the black becoming see through as it stretches or anything – fantastic opacity.

Fabletics-February-2017-items4

On the back side, these capris have a white panel from the mid-thigh, down. At the top of the panel is a strip of reflective material.

Verdict: I mostly got this set because of the bra, and I’m really happy with it! It’s my favorite one I’ve received from Fabletics. As usual, everything fits great and I’m happy with the quality! I’m definitely happy with the value of what I received for $60.

fabletics-march-2017-items1

This month I ordered the Bredgade (retail: $84.90, Fabletics VIP price: $59.95), which consists of the Vienna Seamless Midi Bra and Musetta High-Waisted Seamless Leggings.

fabletics-march-2017-items2

Vienna Seamless Midi Bra – retail: $34.95, Fabletics VIP price: $24.95

This midi bra blurs the lines of sports bra and crop top. The neckline and back are very covered and has a wide, textured band. It offers pretty light support and has removable cups as well. The texture has tiny cut outs that are reminiscent of some kind of lace detailing. The details are really interesting and would make this a great fashion crop top as well!

fabletics-march-2017-items3

The small cut outs/mesh-esque texture continue onto the entire back. I like the coverage on the back, though it makes me feel like it would be more practical for fashion then working out just for the mobility and comfort.

fabletics-march-2017-items4

Musetta High-Waisted Seamless Tights – Retail: $49.95, Fabletics VIP price: $39.95

I’ve tried a different style of seamless tights from Fabletics and found them to be really comfortable so I wanted to try these, too. Plus I loved the small mesh-like texture (that matches the bra) on the bottom half of the legs. I like the way these feel on – they don’t really have much compression to them like the signature Salar leggings do, so I found them quite comfortable. They’re high-waisted, too, which I personally like. It’s flattering, and if you’re pregnant, these would probably work well if you’re not really far along!

The Verdict: I totally got this set mostly for the tights. I think I’ll get a lot of wear out of them – I may have to pass along the sports bra/crop top. As usual, everything fit great and I love the quality! I’m happy with the value and quality of what I received for $60.

Fabletics VIP Membership Subscription Review + BOGO Offer – May 2017

Check out what I got in my first-ever order from Fabletics!

Fabletics is a monthly fitness apparel subscription co-founded by Kate Hudson. You can shop Fabletics in two ways—you can shop the regular store, or you can sign up for their VIP membership. VIP memberships work like this:

  • Take the Fabletics quiz, which will let the company know your size, style, and fitness needs.
  • Each month, Fabletics will curate looks that match your preferences. According to the website, outfits start at $19.00 for new members. (I’m not sure if “new members” refers to just your first order, though.)
  • Shop those looks at 40-50% off what you’d get just paying retail, or skip the month. You have to make your decision by the 5th of the month. If do neither, the $49.95 monthly membership fee will be saved to your account as a credit, which you can put towards other outfits later.
  • As you shop, you’ll also earn points that can be applied to accessories and other cool fitness essentials.

The key takeaway here is that this subscription won’t automatically send you monthly packages like other services do. You have to hop into your account and either decide to add items to your card or skip it. Subscriptions can be canceled at any time, though you do have to call into Fabletics customer service to do it.

Check out what I got in my first-ever order from Fabletics!

I signed up for Fabletics to try out their “2 leggings for $24” deal. I do yoga at least 3 or 4 times a week, but my leggings game is pretty pitiful. Most of my leggings are just plain knit ones that have holes and are really stretched out by now. I’ve heard so many good things about Fabletics, from how well they fit to how well they perform. And this introductory deal is awesome, so I’m willing to give ’em a shot!

My Subscription Addiction paid for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

The Subscription Box: Fabletics VIP Membership

The Cost: $49.95 a month. This price goes towards the cost of the outfits curated for you. The cost of outfits varies, but you’ll only be charged for what you choose to actually buy. If you want, you can choose to skip the month, and you won’t be charged. If you don’t spend your $49.95 nor choose to skip, Fabletics will charge you the $49.95 and just save it as store credit for you to use later.

The Products: High-quality, on-trend athletic clothing curated to fit your size, style, and needs. Think leggings, tops, shorts, and outerwear for yoga, running, and all kinds of other workouts. Fabletics is targeted towards women, primarily, but they do offer workout clothes for men, too!

Kate Hudson makes a great co-founder/spokesmodel, but our body types couldn’t be more different. I’m interested to see how these leggings look (and fit) on someone whose silhouette is a little less lean and straight. I usually wear around a size 10 in jeans, and I’m only 5’3″, so sometimes I need shorter-length sizes. For this subscription, I picked size large leggings in regular length (you can choose long, regular, or short). I figured I’d see what “regular” meant to Fabletics before picking something shorter.

Check out what I got in my first-ever order from Fabletics!

As if they heard me thinking that, Fabletics popped a picture of people of different body types wearing their products on the next page of the booklet. Okay, okay, Fabletics, I’ll try to think more positively!

Brogan Mesh Leggings – VIP Price $49.95 (Retail Price $79.95)

So, when you sign up for the VIP membership, you get to hop in and choose which two leggings you want to receive with your offer. There are a ton of options in all different colors and patterns. I decided I’d go with one bold pair and one simpler pair. I’m super into the trend of leggings with mesh panels and details, but this is my first time trying them for myself. I love ’em! The angles and contrasting colors make me feel like a superhero. And the mesh panels are thick enough that they feel as sturdy as the rest of the leggings.

Check out what I got in my first-ever order from Fabletics!

The leggings are thicker material that hugged my body in a way that felt secure, yet not suffocating. I didn’t worry about sweating through these, nor did I feel like they were going to fall down (the waist is nice and wide, but not so forgiving that it felt like it was sliding around). I’m far from being the most athletic person, but these leggings make me feel like some kind of ultra-cool fitness warrior!

Check out what I got in my first-ever order from Fabletics!

Salar Leggings in Monarch Print – VIP Price $49.95 (Retail Price $79.95)

This is my “simple” pair of leggings—yeah, the pattern is anything but ordinary, but the cut is one of the brand’s signature designs.

Check out what I got in my first-ever order from Fabletics!

These leggings were similarly thick and super comfortable. I’ve been burned by all-over print styles before—ones where the design fades when the fabric is stretched out. But the rich colors of this abstract butterfly pattern stayed bold and clear even as I pulled them up over my legs. Oh, and on that note—I was actually surprised by how nicely both of these leggings fit my body. I’m always worried that leggings won’t be able to handle my booty zone, but both of these styles were perfectly fitted (not restrictive or loose). There’s nothing worse than getting deep into a yoga pose and worrying that your leggings are stretching out or, alternatively, going to slide down. In these styles, I felt secure—I didn’t have to worry about wardrobe malfunctions, so I could focus more on my practice.

The Verdict: I was really impressed by Fabletics! They have an awesome product that fit like a dream and made me feel like a fitness queen. The 2 for $24 deal is fantastic, and definitely left me hooked. These two pairs have a retail value of $159.90, which makes this $24.00 package, uh, basically the sweetest deal ever. Now, starting next month, I’ll be charged the $49.95 membership fee if I don’t buy or choose to skip the month (and you do have to actively go in and choose the option to skip it, not just not buy anything). The VIP price for both of these leggings was $49.95, meaning I would only be able to nab one of these pairs per month. It’s a lot to pay almost $50.00 for leggings, but if I don’t nab more pairs than I need, and I put them to good use, I think they’re worth it. The quality of these leggings is so good that I feel like they’re an investment piece I can justify. I just need to remember to use that skip button now and then!

Read my review of the athleisure outfit I got in my July 2017 Fabletics subscription order!

This month, I hopped into my account later than the beginning-of-the-month ordering period, just to see what would happen. Honestly, it was an easy-peasy process—I was still billed for the $49.95 price of the VIP membership, but that amount was saved as a credit on my account. I just went ahead and picked my favorite outfit for the month, then checked out. Long story short, ordering later in the month, past the set ordering period, doesn’t have any monetary consequences. The only thing you risk is whether the items you want will still be in stock in the size you need.

One thing I noticed—individual items are sometimes under $20.00, but the full outfits (which is what the subscription is specifically for) always start at $49.95. Also, there are only a handful of outfits that go for $49.95. A lot of the standout outfits (including the ones marked as being recommended for me) come in at $59.95 or even $69.95. For the quality I’ve experienced thus far, I don’t necessarily think those prices are off the mark, but I will say it’s a bit of a bummer when I’m setting aside a monthly $49.95 and I’m confronted with paying even more.

Lawson Top and Skirt – VIP Price $49.95 (Retail Price $84.90)

Here’s the outfit I picked this month. None of the workout clothes really spoke to me (at least, none of the ones that weren’t $69.95), so I decided to switch things up and pick an “athleisure” look to wear after a workout (or anytime) rather than something to wear during a workout.

See the cute athleisure clothes I got in my June 2017 Fabletics order!

I am wiiiiild about this skirt! Bottoms always make me nervous—they always look great on the website, featured on generally more slender models with straighter silhouettes, so I’m usually at least a little skeptical about whether the piece will look (and fit) just as nicely on a curvier, broader, shorter body. But Fabletics crushed it! This skirt is a size large (I usually wear a large or about a size 10 in jeans and pants), and fit me perfectly through the hips and just slightly loose through the waist. It’s so comfortable—the fabric feels like my cuddliest sweatshirt—and hallelujah, hallelujah, it has POCKETS! The zipper details are cute, too. Especially in the summer, my least favorite thing is to have to drag jeans or even shorts up over my sweaty, post-workout body. This skirt is perfect for that occasion, but it’s also cute enough to wear it literally anywhere. I can’t wait to show this skirt off!

See the cute athleisure clothes I got in my June 2017 Fabletics order! See the cute athleisure clothes I got in my June 2017 Fabletics order!

The top that came in the outfit is pretty cool, too. It has more of a vanilla color to it—I thought it was more pure cloud white when I saw it online—but it’s really pretty and versatile nonetheless. The fabric is a bit stretchy and has some bounce to it, and it’s thicker fabric than I thought it’d be. It could totally pass for a nicer everyday blouse at a department store. I tucked it in, just to maintain that hourglass shape I prefer, but the top is actually pretty long. It extends down to just about where the bottoms of the pocket openings are, so I’d call it tunic length. The back is low, so there are some bra negotiations that need to be made. I tried it on with a really basic ivory bra, thinking the back strap wouldn’t show, but in the future, I’ll either pick a bra built for a low or backless look, or go the other direction and find a more statement-making piece (maybe a neutral sports bra with a cool patterned band).

Verdict: Fabletics continues to wow me. The process is easier than I expected, and the pieces look and more importantly fit like a dream. The quality is awesome—the pieces I got this month could easily pass in nicer everyday outfits as well as workout ensembles, and things I’ve got in past orders have washed really beautifully. I do wish there had been more looks on the monthly “menu” that fell at the $49.95 price point that you’re already paying for the subscription, but as for what I did end up with, I am absolutely smitten.

So, last month, I mentioned how a lot of the recommended looks for me (and just a lot of the outfits in general) were above the $49.95 monthly value of the subscription. This month, the situation was the same, and so many of the outfits that were $49.95 were super similar to pieces I already have. They also were doing a lot of weird stuff with cutout details that weren’t quite my style. Bummer!

McKenna Top and Leggings – VIP Price $59.95 (Retail Price $109.90)

The outfit I ended up going with was a top and leggings with a value of $59.95. That’s almost half the usual cost of the pieces, so it’s still a pretty good deal. I really loved the idea of this tee, which has a unique open front to it. Probably 90% of the bottoms I own (be they jeans, shorts, or leggings) are high waisted, and I’m excited to see how this top complements that kind of silhouette. It’s kind of a more sophisticated crop top. The top seems like something I could mix into non-workout outfits pretty seamlessly.

The leggings are really cute, too. I’ve been loving the palm print trend that’s been happening this summer (as you’ll be able to tell from my sneakers in the photos below, hehe), but I do worry that by next summer (or, really, this fall) those loud patterns might feel kind of passe. So I like that these leggings feature the palm print but in a more versatile silvery-gray palette. The lighter gray has a hint of icy blue to it, and the deeper silver has an almost lavender tone in certain light. They are capris, which aren’t my fave, but they’re so high quality that there’s no way I won’t use ’em a ton.

Let’s see how they look on me…

Ta-da!

See the cute workout clothes I got in my July 2017 Fabletics order!

Love your belly button? This is the look for you! The way the panels of the top lay, my belly button is perfectly framed and on full display. I was in awkward adolescent phase during the whole Britney Spears midriff era, so maybe this is the time my humble tummy finally gets to shine… (Or it’s just time for me to wear this top with very high-waisted bottoms, hehe!)

See the cute workout clothes I got in my July 2017 Fabletics order!

I’m really into how nicely this top fits, and how neatly the overlapping sides lay across my chest. I can tell it’s well designed and thoughtfully made. I’m a 36B—I wonder if this look would fit the same way on someone with a larger bust, or if it would unintentionally fit a bit more like a crop top. If anyone’s tried this look in a larger size (I’m wearing a medium here), or a smaller one for that matter, definitely let me know what your experience was!

I love how Fabletics leggings fit, too. They’re so thick, smooth, and roomy where they need to be—I never feel like they’re being overstretched or like they’re slipping down unintentionally.

Verdict: Fabletics rules! I love the items I got this month—both pieces are a little outside of my comfort zone, but I’m so delighted by how they look and fit. These are more expensive pieces, especially since most of my current workout wardrobe is from the clearance aisle at Marshalls…), but the quality is top-notch. So far, Fabletics is proving very worth it!

Fabletics VIP Membership Subscription Review – August 2017

Penelope 2-Piece Outfit – VIP Price $49.95 (Retail Price $129.90)

Here’s what I picked for this month! The outfit was called “Penelope”, and was one of the $49.95 choices on this month’s list. This wasn’t one of the “My Pick” items that Fabletics recommends you at the top of the selection page—those outfits were pretty cute, but this outfit just seemed more “me”. If there’s one thing I like about Fabletics, it’s how many choices they give you to pick from each month. There’s always a lot of variety, and I’ve never felt “stuck” with a look I didn’t like.

See the cute workout clothes I got in my August 2017 Fabletics review! See the cute workout clothes I got in my August 2017 Fabletics review! See the cute workout clothes I got in my August 2017 Fabletics review!

I really liked the bra this month! The material on both it and the leggings is shiny and sleek, which feels crisp, modern, and cool. I love full-coverage bra tops like this—it’s what I prefer to wear to my yoga classes, as the coverage helps ensure nothing slips out of place during deep twists or inversions. (I also think they just look cool, hehe!) The bra is lightly padded and has mesh details to help with airflow.

See the cute workout clothes I got in my August 2017 Fabletics review! See the cute workout clothes I got in my August 2017 Fabletics review!

The leggings feature the same shiny fabric of the bra and offer some really cool mesh details, too. I love leggings that play with opacity in this way—they have a real superhero vibe to them, don’t you think?

The one thing that I have to mention here is that these leggings felt totally different than other Fabletics leggings I’ve received. On the whole, all of the Fabletics leggings I’ve gotten thus far are made with thick fabric that not only hugs your body beautifully but creates a smooth silhouette and stays perfectly in place. These leggings are surprisingly thin, given what I’ve seen thus far from the brand. They’re that kind of bathing-suit-ish material that if you hold them up to the light, they actually become a little translucent. When they’re on, they feel perfectly opaque, but I did feel like they lacked the oomph and comfort factor of other styles. They didn’t stay put as well as others I’ve tried, and there’s definitely a risk of VPL if you’re not careful. Will I still wear them and feel like a total rockstar while I do? Oh heck yes. But these aren’t my favorite from a functional perspective.

Verdict: I just really love Fabletics! I’m pleasantly surprised by the variety of styles and products they offer via the subscription, and I feel like what I get is well worth the cost. All of the products I’ve gotten previously are holding up great, workout after workout. And while I had some qualms with this month’s leggings, on the whole, I’m happy. I can forgive a little imperfection in an outfit that makes me want to get out there and show it off. (And anything that encourages me to be more active is OK by me!)  If next month, I end up with similarly so-so leggings, then I’ll be a little bit concerned. As for now, I’m still very happy about being a Fabletics member!

Callie Two Piece Set (includes Clara Sports Bra & Salar Capri) in size 3x – VIP Price $59.95 (New VIP member price: $24.95 + $4.95. Retail price $99.90)

When I first started sifting through the many leggings and work out ensembles in the plus size section, I wanted to make sure to not get my standard go to black pieces. I was drawn immediately to this neon palm print they had. The colors are a bit different than what they look like on the site. I was expecting it to be more of a bright Kelly green instead of the aqua shade it actually is in person. No complaints on that, I love the color combo either way, but they may want to show it in a more true to light photo.

Clara Sports Bra, size 3x – VIP Price $24.95 (retail price $34.95)

I was a bit concerned about getting a sports bra without wires, but the combination Polyester/Elastane fabric comfortably holds me in rather well and lends some support. The sports bra has built-in cups that can be removed also. The racer back has a neat mesh detail on it that adds a nice design detail. The top lays a slight bit longer on me than the model. I am not shy at all about crop tops and showing off my mid-drift, but I like the length for functionality purposes more so than fashion.

Salar Capri, size 3x – VIP Price: $44.95 (retail price $64.95)

I was a bit on edge thinking that the pants would not fit me. They looked so tiny when I pulled them out of the shipping plastic that I checked the tag twice thinking I was mistakenly sent a smaller size. As soon as I got them on, though, I found that they were incredibly stretchy and fit my body like a glove. The material is very smoothing as well. Like most pants and skirts I get, I selected the high waist option for these capris. They hit me just right and I don’t feel like they need to be adjusted or that they will roll down and expose my backside. I am really excited to try these out at the gym!

Verdict: I absolutely love Fabletics! The quality and design of these pieces are undeniable, but the true cherry on top is getting a workout outfit for $24 (plus $4.95 shipping)! That introductory outfit price is such an incredible value! I like that there are a lot of similar styles in both straight and plus size too because nothing frustrates me more than seeing something I like in a smaller size and not being able to get it. Us big girls want to throw our money your way too, for goodness sakes! This is only my first Fabletics outfit, but I am tremendously pleased and cannot wait to get a second outfit.
